Pantyhose nightmare

Yesterday, I was speaking with one of my potential future co-workers who informed me of a lovely dress-code policy at the job. I was not pleased to hear that PANTYHOSE OR SOCKS ARE REQUIRED WITH EVERY OUTFIT. So, even if I wear pants with heels, I have to wear panty hose (or trouser socks, or knee highs) under my pants.

For someone who HATES pantyhose, this is almost a deal breaker. It's O.K. for the winter, but how am I supposed to adapt for the summer? This means no cute sandals, no peep toes, no open toed shoes at all really, unless I want to wear pantyhose under them. BLAH! And the strange thing is, the dress code isn't even very dressy. I mean most of the people wear khaki pants to work (with flats and of course socks). If I get the job, I will learn to adapt but this would definitely put a cramp in my styling options. Yet another reason to wait until I actually get a job to go shopping for clothes.

That sounds like one dumb rule to me! I can maybe understand them saying no bare legs with skirts, but under trousers - er, why? If you get the job I'm sure that rule can be challenged once you've been there a while.

Leah - stop by Kohl's and pick up a few pairs of the Simply Vera nude fishnets. The netting is only obvious close-up. From far away, it looks as if you're wearing traditional hose.

They are cool and comfortable in the summer and I think fishnet look fine with slingback or peep-toe shoes. (Not so much with strappy sandals, though!)

Kasmira,
Thanks so much for that suggestion! What a great idea!

Man, I hate pantyhose, too and I actually can't even remember the last time I wore them! (Probably for my interview 3 years ago at school!)By the way, I love the previous outfit-especially the black skinny belt! Very cute!
